Terms of Service

Welcome to nextayah. These terms govern your use of the nextayah mobile app and the nextayah.app website. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

What nextayah is

nextayah is a Quran recitation companion. You can listen to a qari recite a verse, record yourself reciting the same verse, and receive an automated score and breakdown across melody, tone, clarity, flow, loudness, speed, and tajweed. The app also includes practice tools, awards and streaks, leaderboards, friends and follows, and recite-together rooms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are younger, a parent or guardian must set up and manage the account for you.

Your account

You can sign in with email and password, Sign in with Apple, or Google. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for any activity under your account. Please tell us right away if you think your account has been used without your permission. You can request account deletion at any time by emailing hello@nextayah.app.

Your recitations

You keep ownership of your recitations. Audio is processed entirely on your device and is never uploaded to our servers — only the resulting score and your practice history are saved to your account. In recite-together rooms, your live audio is transmitted peer-to-peer to other participants while you are connected; we do not record or store it.

Scoring and feedback

Scores and feedback are produced by automated models running on your device. They are meant to support your practice and are not a substitute for guidance from a qualified teacher or qari. Results can vary, and you should treat them as a learning aid.

Subscriptions and purchases

Some features are part of a Pro subscription. Subscriptions are sold and billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Pricing, renewals, free trials, refunds, and cancellations are governed by the store you subscribed through, and you can manage your subscription from that store's account settings. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.

Acceptable use and community

When using social features — friends, follows, leaderboards, recite-together rooms, content requests, and your public profile — please be respectful. You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, or impersonate other users.
• Use display names, usernames, avatars, or content that are offensive, misleading, or sacrilegious.
• Disrupt rooms or leaderboards, attempt to game scores, or use unauthorized tools to alter the app's behavior.
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in a way that infringes someone else's rights.

We may remove content, reset scores or rankings, or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Content and intellectual property

The Quranic text and traditional recitations are the timeless heritage of all Muslims and are presented in the app for the benefit of every reciter. The app itself — including its design, code, original artwork, original audio, and the nextayah name and logo — belongs to nextayah or our licensors and may not be copied, modified, or redistributed without permission. Some Quranic audio and content is provided by partners such as the Quran Foundation and remains subject to their terms.

Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions, you grant us permission to use them freely to improve nextayah, without any obligation to you.

Service availability

We work to keep nextayah running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee the service will always be available, uninterrupted, or free from errors. We may update, change, or discontinue parts of the service at any time.

Termination

You can stop using nextayah at any time and request account deletion. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or that pose a risk to other users or to the service.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent allowed by law, nextayah disclaims all warranties and is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will let you know in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated terms.
